ReSilence offers a number of artist residencies as part of the EU-funded STARTS Residencies program. With a total budget of 1,2 Mio. euros, ReSilence will fund 8-10 proposals with grants of 40.000 euros for selected artists and 80.000 euros for SMEs.

The main goal of ReSilence is to support the development of art-driven technologies to design the soundscape of future cities. The challenge is not to simply reduce noise pollution but to configure and design sound so as to create a pleasant urban experience. Utilizing the latest tools of artificial intelligence (AI) and extended reality (XR), the EU-funded ReSilence project will explore the borders between sound and silence in a changing world by producing acoustic awareness in urban spaces. ReSilence will also fashion new urban sounds that facilitate social accessibility, participation and inclusion. Moreover, it will elicit inspiration from artists and serve as a confidence-builder for AI and XR technologies.
